About me

I enjoy solving practical business problems with technology.

I’m Shachin Bharadwaj, founder of TaskEye—a platform that helps frontline teams manage everyday work through WhatsApp.

My work involves spending time with businesses, understanding how their teams actually operate and then finding simple ways to make their processes more structured and visible.

I’ve worked closely with teams across manufacturing, restaurants, construction, healthcare and facilities management. These experiences have taught me that useful technology is rarely about adding more features. It is about reducing friction and making the right behaviour easier.

This website is where I share what I’m learning about products, business operations, technology, decision-making and building a company.

Before TaskEye

TaskEye isn’t my first attempt at building something. Some of my earlier ventures succeeded, one didn’t—and all of them shaped how I think about products, people and businesses.

TastyKhana · 2007–2014

My first startup was an online food-ordering platform launched in Pune in 2007—well before ordering food online became commonplace in India. By 2014, TastyKhana operated across 160 cities and processed up to 100,000 orders a month. It was acquired by Foodpanda in 2014.

Through Delivery Hero, an investor in TastyKhana, I also had the opportunity to work with and learn from food-delivery teams across Europe, China, Southeast Asia, South Korea and Australia.

Sminq · Acquired in 2019

Sminq helped patients avoid waiting unnecessarily at doctors’ clinics by allowing them to track queues remotely. It was used by approximately 100,000 patients across more than 200 doctors in Maharashtra before being acquired by PharmEasy under its DocOn business in 2019.

Markk · Closed in 2022

Markk was a video-first social app designed to help people discover the real-time “vibe” of a place. We piloted it in Los Angeles and had a few unexpected viral moments during the pandemic, when local communities used it to locate essential supplies. Ultimately, the product did not find a sustainable path, and we shut it down in 2022.

I’m a computer engineer from the University of Pune and studied at The Bishop’s School, Pune.
